Niger State Governor, Dr Muazu Babangida Aliyu, has called on human rights and civil society groups in the country to rise to the defence of the wives of the man with 86 wives, Alhaji Abubakar Bello Masaba, saying they need deliverance. 

According to Aliyu who made this appeal in Minna Monday at the National Gender Dialogue Session in Niger state held at the Idris Legbo Kutigi International Conference Centre, marrying 86 wives is an abuse on the women.

"It is clear that these women need help and even if they are following the man willingly which we doubt, then they need deliverance and civil societies should advocate for them and protect them."
