8 ways to follow the #UNGA online

Every September, world leaders and dignitaries from around the world gather in New York City for the United Nations General Assembly “General Debate.” In addition, many high-level, special and side events take place at UN Headquarters and around the city.
The UN’s Department of Public of Information is committed to welcoming individuals around the world to these meetings via its extensive online coverage.
Here are 8 ways you can join the global conversation.

1. Use the official hashtags – #UNGA, #UN4RefugeesMigrants and more
Millions of people around the world have signed up for regular updates from the UN’s social media accounts and millions more are talking about UN issues. You can join these discussions by using the official meeting hashtag, #UNGA, across your social media channels. New this year is the custom emoji on Twitter that appears when a user adds the official #UNGA hashtag to tweets. For the Summit for Refugees and Migrants we are using #UN4RefugeesMigrants.  Additional hashtags may also be announced for other events as outlined in the image above.
2. Follow “united-nations” on Snapchat

Let us share our stories on Snapchat with you. Follow “united-nations” and get an inside look at the many exciting happenings in and around UN Headquarters.
3. Watch the live webcast 
All the #UNGA Plenary Sessions, and most high-level, special and side events will be webcast live at http://webtv.un.org.  Be sure to tune in all week.  Want to know who is speaking when? Check the official lists.
4. Tweet with @UN on Twitter
Following @UN on Twitter is the best way to catch up-to-the-minute news, quotes, behind-the-scenes photos and multimedia products.
5. Get an inside look on Instagram and Flickr
See more visual updates from staff taking part in activities by following @UnitedNations on Instagram.  Flickr photo galleries will be updated when available.
6. Like the United Nations on Facebook
The United Nations Facebook Page shares the top highlights from each day, photo galleries and more.
7. Share your questions 
Some events will be soliciting your questions and comments. These opportunities will be announced on Twitter via the @UN account.
8. Connect with the United Nations in multiple languages and on other platforms
